2011 Summer Reading Program directions for students
in high school and middle school
As
you read the book you have selected for your required summer reading, be
sure to think about some of the new information and ideas that you are
learning about through your reading.
When you think about these new ideas, what questions do you have?
How does the reading you are doing connect to your own life or
the world around you?
As a part of your summer reading, you are
required to keep a journal to record your new ideas, questions
and connections.
Click
here to download
graphic organizers and a journal template to help you to respond to
your reading.
In September, your teacher will discuss the project
that you will do to complete your summer reading requirement.
You will need the graphic organizers and the journal to assist
you in completing this project.
It will be very helpful for you to complete the
Chapter Grid to summarize the important information in each chapter of the book
you read.
Have a great summer reading!
