The High School Transition Program is for students in grades 9-12 who are returning to the City School District of Albany from residential placement, or who have had difficulty adjusting to a traditional high-school setting. The full-day program is located at the Adult Learning Center, 141 Western Ave.

The program focuses on identifying personal strengths and academic goals. The curriculum includes all required courses for graduation as well as physical education, Spanish, art and Academic Intervention Services (AIS). The program also utilizes Apex Learning, a comprehensive, standards-based online program that helps engage students in rigorous coursework and prepare them for high-school graduation and beyond.
