North Albany Academy students celebrate Arbor Day

Members of a local Girl Scout troop, Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education Terry White, Mayor Jerry Jennings, North Albany Academy Principal Dale Getto, an official with the Home Depot Foundation and City Forester Tom Pfeiffer plant a tree in front of the school.

Students and staff at North Albany Academy celebrated Arbor Day today, Friday, by planting 100 trees at their school and in the surrounding neighborhoods. They were joined by Mayor Jerry Jennings, district Assistant Superintendent Terry White, and officials and volunteers from the National Arbor Day Foundation and the Home Depot Foundation. As one of 10 cities to receive a grant for 100 trees to be planted on Arbor Day, Albany joined the likes of Chicago, Los Angeles and Minneapolis.
