Students convert summer reading into a summer ride through library program

Delaware Community School and Dual Language Enrichment Program student Chyim Bowen's summer reading earned him a new bicycle.

Ten City School District of Albany students recognized for their summer reading at the Albany Public Library on Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, read a combined 1,470 books over the previous summer.As a result, the elementary school winners of the of the Albany Public Library Summer Reading challenge were awarded bicycles courtesy of Downtube Bicycle Works, and the middle and high school winners were awarded a DVD player. The theme of the contest is "Books: A Treasure."
