Helps Us to Learn
By
Kamron James DelValle
I
just finished reading a book called Zipper The Kid with A.D.H.D.
by Caroline Janover. It’s about a kid who’s having problems in school
because he is so hyper. He was trying so hard to organize everything
all at once, but he would get mixed up. He would miss baseball
practice, he forgot his homework, and he would lose a lot of his toys
and things.
I
learned that I am not the only kid with A.D.H.D. It’s hard to find
something for me to do, and stay doing, just like Zipper. It was hard
for Zipper to play with his friends because he is too hyper, and cannot
concentrate for a long time. I am like Zipper. I get angry at people
because they tell me what to do, and boss me around a lot. They tell me
to calm down and be quiet! I feel sad sometimes, and mad when people
make fun of me or laugh at me.
When Zipper went to the doctor, he found out that he had A.D.H.D. We
learned from the book that it stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactive
Disorder. This is a disorder that a lot of people are just born with,
making it harder for them to control their behavior, sit still, and calm
down. After I read this book, I learned more about what I have, and
about what’s going on in my life. I have a medicine that I take every
day that I have to get from the doctor.
I
like the way I am no matter what!
