Kindergarten Registration

Beginning a journey, building a foundation

Kindergarten registration began May 19 for the 2014-15 school year
Establishing a solid foundation for young children is vital in shaping the critical first years of the school experience. The City School District of Albany offers excellent full-day kindergarten programs in all 12 of our elementary schools to help your child build the skills, confidence and relationships they need to begin a lifetime of learning.

Kindergarten registration for the 2014-15 school year began Monday, May 19. To enter kindergarten this fall, your child must turn 5 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2014.

You need to register child if your child for kindergarten if he or she:

You can register your child Monday-Friday from 8:30-4 p.m. at the district's Central Registration Office, located at 75 Watervlliet Ave. (off Central Avenue near Westgate Plaza). You will need proof of your child's age and residency, as well as proof of immunization and custody papers, if applicable. Click the highlighted text to find out documents you need to register your child.

You do not need to register your child for kindergarten if he or she currently attends prekindergarten in:

The district gives families the option to enroll a child in a school other than their neighborhood zone school. For more information about this open enrollment option, click the highlighted text or call the district's Pupil Personnel Office at 475-6130.
