The turnaround at the front of the
building on North Lake Avenue (where the play ground is
located) is for buses only. To secure the
building, the North Lake Avenue entrance to the building
will be the only main entrance. Parents may park
on the Washington Avenue side of the building, but must
walk students in at that main entrance.
If you have any questions regarding
transportation, please call 462-7320.
Busing and Dismissal
All students living a half-mile or more from school will be dismissed at 3:35 p.m.
and transported home by Durham School Services yellow
buses.
Arbor
Hill Elementary School serves students from
prekindergarten through grade 5. The school is heavily involved in a school reform
initiative called ATLAS Communities, which is helping
teachers find new and creative ways to raise student
achievement.
While Arbor Hill Elementary
is renovated during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 school years
as part of the City School District of Albany's
facilities project, the school temporarily will relocate
to the former Philip Schuyler Elementary School at 141
Western Ave. Students from Thomas O'Brien Academy of
Science and Technology (TOAST) also will be located at
Schuyler Elementary during the 2008-09 school year only
due to facilities work at that elementary building.
If you have not
received information regarding transportation for the
2008-09 school year, please contact the office at
462-7165. If the address we have on file is different
from your current address, you will have to go to
Central Registration, located in the Sunshine Building
at the corner of Delaware and Morton avenues, to change
your address to ensure transportation for your child for
the 2008-09 school year.
