Our mission at Eagle Point Elementary is to provide a
safe and nurturing environment, prekindergarten through
grade 6, that develops and promotes a diverse community
of confident, life-long learners.
As part of the City School District of Albany's
comprehensive facilities project, School 27 was
renovated in 2005 and rechristened Eagle Point
Elementary School, in recognition of its location near
the highest point in the City of Albany, when it
reopened in January 2006.
Eagle Point serves approximately 220 students in prekindergarten
through grade 5, and will add grade 6 for the 2009-10
school year. Eagle Point's small size allows
teachers and administrators to create a cozy environment
in which programs can be individualized to meet
students' specific needs.
The school has partnerships with the University at
Albany, The College of St. Rose and the Hebrew Academy
in Albany.

The Little Book House in Stuyvesant Plaza
showcased Eagle Point Elementary School artists in an
October
window display of eclectic sculpture: Halloween,
Victorian architecture and … pizza? Art teacher Debbie Cronin pulled it all
together in "Haunted Pizza." The exhibit
incorporated the well-known theme of Halloween with
two lesser-known subjects: Pizza Month, which is
October, and artist Edward Hopper's renditions of
ornately designed homes that often look haunted. “Haunted Pizza” is the Little Book House's fifth
window display of artwork by City School District of
Albany students in as many years. The display ran
throughout October, and if you missed it at
the Little Book House you can check it out in the
district's
Photo Gallery.
