Philip Livingston Magnet Academy
serves approximately 250 students in grades 6-8.
The architecturally significant school
is home to excellent athletic facilities, three computer
labs, a beautiful library, a dance studio, a drama
studio and an auditorium that seats 1,100. The
auditorium was once used by the Albany Symphony as its
practice hall.
At 82 acres, Tivoli Lakes Park, New
York State's second-largest urban wildlife preserve, is
located directly behind the school, giving students
access to a natural environmental laboratory.

Election 2008 --
Philip Livingston Magnet Academy students were among
students of all ages district-wide who
participated in a variety of election-related events
leading up to Election Day 2008, including a mock
election in which Illinois Sen. Barack Obama
received nearly 97 percent of the vote.
