Please join us Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. as we mark the completion of the New Scotland Elementary School renovation project and welcome the school back to its familiar location at 369 New Scotland Ave. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and public tour. 


About New Scotland Elementary School
New Scotland Elementary School, the former School 19, serves students in kindergarten through grade 5. Our mission is to provide an environment through the cooperation of parents, students, teachers, administrators, and community residents in which students can achieve their academic and emotional potential through the development of self-confidence, self-discipline, self-expression, and creativity.

As part of the City School District of Albany's comprehensive facilities project, New Scotland Elementary students temporarily will be relocated for the first four months of the 2008-09 school year. First-grade students are attending Eagle Point Elementary School at 1044 Western Ave., and students in kindergarten and grades 2-5 are attending school at the former Montessori Montessori Magnet School at 75 Park Ave. All grades will return to 369 New Scotland Ave. on Monday, January 5 following the holiday break.

School times

  • Breakfast begins at 8:25 a.m.

  • Classes begin at 9:05 a.m.

  • Dismissal is at 3:35 p.m.

Absence from school
If your child is absent from school for any reason, call the school at 475-6775 during the morning and provide a written excuse when your child returns to school.
