About Schuyler Achievement Academy
Philip J. Schuyler Achievement Academy opened its doors for the first time in September 2004, one of the first projects completed as part of the part of the City School District of Albany's comprehensive facilities plan approved by voters in 2001. The renovated and expanded building is a blend of the school most recently known as Opportunity School 21 and a new structure added on to enlarge the school.

About 300 students attend Schuyler Achievement Academy in prekindergarten through grade 5. We are proud of our full-service model, which affords us the means to take care of the children’s academic needs as well as provide a range of health and wellness services. These services include mobile dental health services through our partnership with the St. Peter's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House, and school-based health services through our partnership with Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Services, in addition to mental health and other wellness services on premises.

Parents are involved in a variety of activities and services such as parent workshops, family counseling, Time Dollars, serving on advisory boards and committees, and serving as room parents. Students started the 2007-08 academic year wearing uniforms as requested by parents. Growth and Progress (GAP) Wednesdays provide weekly enrichment activities school-wide.
