Four Lady Falcons
earn Big 10 all-star recognition
Senior Shenekwa Stewart was
chosen to the first-team Big 10 girls' all-star basketball team in the
league’s annual vote. The 5' 11'' guard/forward scored over 12 points
per game and led the team to a 11-9 record. Fellow senior guard Alexis
Hauser earned a spot on the second team. Hauser, who averaged 9 points
per game, had a career night against Ichabod Crane on Feb. 6, scoring 21
points in the game. Both players were also named to the Big 10’s
exceptional seniors team.
Although the Lady Falcons
are losing two very strong players to graduation at the end of the year,
the future is looking bright for the team. Sophomore Kelsey Green (8.2
ppg) and seventh-grader Breahanda Stratton (6.2 ppg) both received
honorable mention recognition in the Big 10.
The Lady Falcons finished
the regular season 11-9 overall and 7-5 in the Big 10, good for fourth
place in the conference. They play Suburban Council fifth seed Columbia
(9-11) on Wednesday in a Section II Class AA first-round game at Albany
High School. Game time is 6 p.m. |
