School bus
transportation pickups and drop offs are at designated neighborhood
sites. Students will not have to walk more than one-half mile (0.5)
between their home and their pickup and drop off site. Parents are
responsible for their child's safety until the child boards the bus
and once the child steps off the bus.
Parental
Involvement
Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and special education students will not
be dropped off unless a parents, guardian, or other responsible adult is
waiting for the student.
If it is
determined that no one is waiting for a child, that child will be
brought to Giffen Memorial Elementary School, 274 South Pearl Street, to
await parent pickup.
If a student
is to be picked up or dropped off at a relative's home, child care
location, or parent's workplace, parents must submit a complete a
"change of bus stop" form at least three school days in advance of the
change.
These
pickup/drop off sites also must meet eligibility requirements (1.5 miles
form the school, etc.). Forms are available from your child's school
