Beginning Jan. 31, parents and guardians of students in grades 9-12 will
be able to access the district's student information system to monitor
their children's progress and performance in school. PowerSchool is an
easy to use, Web-based information system that provides students,
parents and guardians, and teachers with a tool to communicate student
performance.
PowerSchool may be accessed from any place with Internet access. The
application uses a secure link that encrypts the data to and from the
end user, and is very secure. Parents, guardians and students will be
able to view daily attendance, assignments and class grades. More
information will be available through each school and on this Web site
during the next several weeks.
The City School District
of Albany serves approximately 9,000 students in 18 elementary and
middle and
high schools. The district includes several magnet schools and programs,
as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students in
addition to neighborhood schools. The district is more than halfway
through its comprehensive facilities project to newly build and/or
renovate nearly all of its elementary and middle schools. The ultimate
goal of the facilities project is to provide schools with the resources
necessary to help students succeed in the 21st century. |
