Recent Telephone Survey Not Conducted by City School District of Albany

ALBANY, NY (June 10,  2005)--The City School District of Albany would like residents to know that it is not conducting a telephone survey about its schools.

Many district employees, community residents, and even people who do not live in the City of Albany have contacted district staff to inform them that they have received telephone calls from an unknown source using an automated survey.

Please know that the district has not contracted with any polling agency to conduct this survey, nor have we shared any parent contact information with outside sources. Additionally, we do not know who is conducting the survey, nor do we know how the information gathered will be used.

If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child's principal or the district office at 475-6000.

The City School District of Albany serves almost 9,400 students in 19 elementary, middle and high schools. The district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students in addition to neighborhood schools. The district is more than halfway through its comprehensive facilities project to newly build and/or renovate nearly all of its elementary and middle schools. The ultimate goal of the facilities project is to provide schools with the resources necessary to help students succeed in the 21st Century.
