Transportation applications available for 2012-13 school year

ALBANY, N.Y. (May 4, 2012) -- City School District of Albany families have until June 15 to complete applications for bus transportation for their children during the 2012-13 school year.

The district transports all eligible students -- those who live 1.5 miles or more from their school -- either by yellow bus or Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) bus.

Click on the highlighted text for an application for yellow bus service (for elementary schools, North Albany Academy and Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School) or a CDTA pass (for transportation to Albany High School and Hackett Middle School).

Your child's school also will send home a copy of the appropriate form. Completed applications should be turned in by June 15 to the school your child currently attends.

For children who attend private, parochial or charter schools in Albany, the deadline to apply for 2012-13 transportation was April 1. However, eligible requests received after the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis. Click on the highlighted text for a non-public school transportation application.

For more information, visit our Transportation Office web page or call 475-6150.

The mission of the City School District of Albany is to educate and nurture all students to be responsible citizens, critical thinkers and lifelong learners to successfully compete in the global community by providing an academically rigorous and safe environment in partnership with parents, students and the community.
