Albany High AP/IB Information Night on Jan. 31

ALBANY, N.Y. (January 18, 2012) -- Albany High School invites parents and students to its annual Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate Information Night on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The program will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

AP/IB Information Night gives families a chance to learn more about the numerous opportunities available for students to take advanced coursework at Albany High. All students are encouraged to take advantage of these excellent opportunities to prepare for the academic rigor of college and to have the chance to earn college credits in high school. An admissions representative from Siena College also will be in attendance.

For more information, call Albany High at 475-6200 and ask to be connected to Margot Plumadore in the IB office.

Albany High offers 16 AP courses this year and is one of just two high schools in the Capital Region offering the prestigious IB program for juniors and seniors. Albany High consistently has been ranked among America’s top high schools for advanced coursework in the annual rankings compiled by The Washington Post.

The mission of the City School District of Albany is to educate and nurture all students to be responsible citizens, critical thinkers and lifelong learners to successfully compete in the global community by providing an academically rigorous and safe environment in partnership with parents, students and the community. The district serves about 8,700 students in 15 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
