Monthly awards recognize
Albany High students for excellent attendance
ALBANY, N.Y. (Feb. 27, 2012) --
Five Albany High School students have been recognized
for January in the school's monthly drawing to
reward students with excellent attendance.
The January winners, selected at random from 778
students who qualified for the drawing, were:

Leadership Academy)

Nicholas Beattie (freshman,
Citizenship Academy)

Hannah Moran (junior,
Innovation Academy)

Lashaunda Motley (senior,
Innovation Academy)

Baw Meh (freshman,
Leadership Academy)
The students
received gift cards donated by Stewart’s Shops.
Baw Meh also was selected at random from the five
winners to receive the monthly grand prize -- a $25
iTunes gift card. The attendance drawings will continue
monthly throughout the school year.

The mission of the City School District of
Albany is to educate and nurture all students to be
responsible citizens, critical thinkers and lifelong learners to
successfully compete in the global community by providing an
academically rigorous and safe environment in partnership with parents,
students and the community. The district serves about 8,700
students in 15
elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood
schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as
well as other innovative academic opportunities for students,
including four themed academies at Albany High
School.
