Discounted CDTA passes available
to some Albany High, Hackett students
ALBANY, N.Y. (Dec.
19, 2011)
--
Albany High School and William S. Hackett Middle School students
that live within 1.5 miles of their schools now can get a 10 percent
discount on CDTA bus passes.
The discount would apply on two types of 31-day “swiper” bus passes:
one providing unlimited rides on weekdays and one providing
unlimited rides seven days a week. Price of the discounted weekday
pass is $49.50. Price of the discounted seven-day pass is $58.50.
CDTA regularly transports Albany High and Hackett students to and
from school if the student lives 1.5 miles or more from school. The
new discount would be available to roughly 600 additional Albany
High and Hackett students who applied for but were denied free CDTA
transportation because they live too close to their schools.
To get a discounted student pass, parents or guardians must:
-
Bring a form of identification of your child (birth certificate,
school ID, report card, interim report) to the district
Transportation Office between 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
The Transportation Office, located at 75 Watervliet Avenue, will
issue a voucher once a student’s identification is verified; and
-
Bring the voucher to the CDTA sales office at 85 Watervliet
Avenue, the only place the discounted passes will be sold.
Albany school district employees also are eligible for the discount
passes. The process for getting one is the same.
For more information, call the district Transportation Office at
475-6170.
