Albany High, middle schools announce orientation schedule
ALBANY, N.Y. (Aug. 1, 2012) --
Albany High School and the City School District of Albany's three
middle schools will hold orientations at the end of the month.
Albany High School will hold orientation sessions for all students
the last week in August. The schedule follows:

Monday, Aug. 27 --
Freshman Orientation

Discovery
and Leadership academies,
7:35-10 a.m.

Citizenship and
Innovation academies, 11:35 a.m.-2 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 27
-- Sophomore
Orientation

Citizenship and
Innovation academies, 8-10:30 a.m.

Discovery
and Leadership academies,
noon-2:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 28

and Senior Orientation

North Albany Academy will hold a
Grades 7-8 Orientation from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.
Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School
will hold a New Student Orientation from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.
William S. Hackett Middle School
will hold a Grade 6-7 Orientation Camp from 8:30-11:30 a.m beginning
Monday, Aug. 20 and continuing through the following Tuesday, Aug. 28.

The mission of the City School District of
Albany is to educate and nurture all students to be
responsible citizens, critical thinkers and lifelong learners to
successfully compete in the global community by providing an
academically rigorous and safe environment in partnership with parents,
students and the community. The district serves about 8,600
students in 15
elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood
schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as
well as other innovative academic opportunities for students,
including four themed academies at Albany High
School.
