Donation provides enormous boost to bilingual reading materials

at Delaware Community School

ALBANY, N.Y. (June 10, 2016) -- Delaware Community School received an incredibly generous gift June 10 when Ocean State Job Lot delivered more than 10,100 books!

There were 6,499 books in Spanish and 3,625 books in English -- Delaware is home to the district's Spanish-English immersion Dual Language Program. The donation has an estimated value of about $250,000!

Principal Kenneth Lein, Ed.D. (pictured carrying books) and staff members rolled up their sleeves and unloaded the tractor-trailer parked alongside the school on Bertha Street.

The donation will provide a significant boost to the school's library as well as classroom reading materials throughout the building. Please visit our Facebook page to see more photos.

Muchas gracias, Ocean State Job Lot!
