Neither rain nor hurricane could keep students and staff in the City
School District of Albany from starting the 2011-12 school year with
energy and enthusiasm.
From the smallest prekindergartener to the tallest high-school
senior, every student began with a fresh start. Below are photos taken
during the early days of school.

This family of Giffen Memorial Elementary students
stays dry in the drizzle as they cross the street to go to their
school. The sisters in the photo at right, also
Giffen students, brighten up the day with their bright clothes and
bright smiles.

The pair of brothers from Schuyler Achievement
Academy pictured at left is clearly happy to back at school. On
