Albany's public schools by the numbers

  • 1.5 – Percent increase in the tax levy in this year’s proposed budget

  • 2 – Nights a week Myers Middle School pool is open to the public (Mondays and Wednesdays)

  • 3 – Albany High students featured in the 2012 High School Regional Juried Art Exhibition at The College of St. Rose in February-March

  • 4 – Themed academies new this year at Albany High School (Citizenship, Discovery, Innovation and Leadership)

  • 5 – District students who traveled to Tokyo in March to compete in the 2012 World Double Dutch Contest (Congratulations, Nanny’s Double
    Dutch League!)

  • 6 – Elementary schools with voluntary uniform policies

  • 8 – Albany High seniors recognized in the National Merit and National Achievement scholarship programs

  • 11 – Summer academies available to middle- and high-school students in 2012 (sign up by May 18!)
