Every year William S.
Hackett Middle School teacher Lynn Bancroft engages her students in a
character-education
project that will help someone in the community.
This year, the Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society benefited from their efforts. Bancroft and her
students rallied Hackett students and staff and together they raised
$447.41 in change through the society’s “Pennies for Patients” program.
The money they raised will support services for children who have been
affected by blood cancer.
Bancroft chose the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society after learning of a Hackett colleague’s
cancer. Although the fundraising effort was school-wide, students in Sue
Paultre’s sixth-grade class raised the most money. |
