Substitute Teaching

Substitute Teacher Application Process

 

Substitute Teacher Requirements

The minimum requirement for a substitute teacher position is a bachelor's degree. Experience related to instruction in an education environment and/or education courses is preferred. Teacher certification is a PLUS.

 

To apply for a substitute teaching position, please follow these steps:

 

Download the PROFESSIONAL APPLICATION PACKET (available here), which includes:

  • The Professional Application

  • Substitute Application Form

  • Voluntary Affirmative Action Form

Complete and fax or mail the PROFESSIONAL APPLICATION PACKET as soon as possible. ALL applications will be reviewed and acknowledged. The applicants selected will be contacted by telephone and scheduled for an interview.

 

Fingerprint clearance is required. Upon interview, applicants will receive a Fingerprinting Consent Form. Substitute teachers are per diem employees paid at a daily pay rate. Benefits are excluded.

 

Please note that in addition to completing the above requirements, you also will need to submit other documentation necessary for us to consider your application. Please contact the Human Resource Office for more information.
