Sheridan Preparatory Academy
400 Sheridan Avenue

Sheridan Preparatory Academy opened its doors in 2004. The school is located at the site of the former Harriet Gibbons High School, which relocated to Watervliet Avenue. The property was previously leased from the Catholic Diocese and was purchased as part of the facilities plan to make room for a new elementary school.

Sheridan Preparatory Academy can serve up to 450 students in grades K-5. The 55,000-square-foot building is divided into "neighborhoods" to group students by grade level. To view photos of the school, visit the Sheridan Photo Gallery. 

New & State-of-the-Art School:

  • 18 K-5 classrooms (all Kindergarten rooms have toilets)

  • 3 Special Education classrooms with support space for special services

  • 2 tutorial/enrichment rooms

  • 1 computer classroom

  • 1 music classroom with practice room and storage

  • 1 art room

  • Library/media center

  • Gymnasium

  • Cafeteria

  • Administrative support area for principal, guidance, attendance, and special services

  • Faculty work area

  • Parent/community room

  • Nurse's suite with exam room, bed, and toilet
