Facilities Plan: Overview

Rebuilding our schools, reshaping education
Almost every elementary and middle school in the City School District of Albany is being newly built and/or renovated. The Albany School of Humanities (ASH) is one exception. ASH was completely renovated in 1995.

The overview below includes the timelines for each school project, project budget, and information for each school included in the facilities plan. Due to changes in the scope of work at certain schools, budgets and work planned have changed since the facilities plan was originally conceived. To learn more about the original referenda and corresponding projects, please click here.

The construction timeline was developed with three priorities:

  • To shield students and staff from the chaos of construction.

  • To provide for a gradual tax increase.

  • To keep work on schedule.
