Hackett Hawks set new school tradition
The
faculty and staff at Hackett Middle School decided to
change things up and start something new for the 2007-08
school year. On Aug. 30, a Faculty/Staff Barbeque and
Orientation was held, the result of the building
leadership teams’ Summer Institute at Siena College.
The barbeque
was a way for Hackett employees to get together in a
relaxed setting before school started. This gave some
time to set up classrooms, meet new employees,
distribute the school-wide planning packet for the first
three days of school, and, most importantly, to have
lunch with Principal Kenneth Newman managing the grill!
This event
was a positive start for all employees. We look forward
to this tradition next year.
In addition
to the barbeque, we were also able to start the year off
right by having a New
Faculty/Staff
Orientation. This was a great opportunity for new
employees to familiarize themselves with the building,
understand Positive Behavioral Intervention Support (PBIS),
go over staff binders and have the opportunity to
address any questions, comments or concerns before the
start of school.
This was a
positive way to make our new faculty and staff members
feel welcome, and it helped transition them into their
new and exciting jobs at Hackett Middle School.
Go Hawks!
