Philip Livingston Magnet Academy,
which includes grades 7 and 8 (and sections of Grade 6),
is the City School District of Albany's only
middle-level magnet program. For more information about
the magnet program and the application process, please
contact the Magnet Schools Office at 475-6070.
The architecturally significant school
is home to excellent athletic facilities, three computer
labs, a beautiful library, a dance studio, a drama
studio and an auditorium that seats 1,100. The
auditorium was once used by the Albany Symphony as its
practice hall.
At 82 acres, Tivoli Lakes Park, New
York State's second-largest urban wildlife preserve, is
located directly behind the school, giving students
access to a natural environmental laboratory.
