Improvement Goals, 2005-06
Areas of need have been
identified from achievement results reported for the
school from the New York State Report Card, and through
goal-setting activities of the Montessori Shared
Decision Making Team and have resulted in the
school-wide goals listed below.
Goal 1
Continuously improve the academic achievement of our
students, especially in the area of Grade 4 New York
State (NYS) math and English Language Arts (ELA) test
results.
While the percentage of
students meeting the statewide reference point
increased over the past year, the NYS Education
Department is encouraging a 90% passing rate for
students in Levels 2-4 in 2002, with a 55% rate
meeting the Levels 3-4 range of achievement.
Goal 2
Continue to build an
authentic Montessori Program that is highly compatible
with, and that enhances, both the NYS Learning Standards
and the district's core curriculum.
Goal 3
Improve the overall attendance rate of students at
Montessori.
Goal 4
Decrease the overall suspension rate of students at
Montessori while consistently maintaining a safe and
orderly learning environment within the school.
