Clubs and Sports
Philip J.
Schuyler Achievement Academy believes that students do
better in school when they exercise their bodies as well
as their minds. To that end, the school offers three
different programs to give children a chance to learn
discipline and self-esteem, and have fun doing it!
YMCA The YMCA program provides before- and after-school care
for children. Staff is on hand beginning at 7 a.m.,
prior to the start of school, and from 3:20-5:45 p.m.
after school. Parents can register their children for
the program by calling Beth Doris at 365-6481.
PAL karate
Police Athletic League (PAL) karate
is offered to 4th- and 5th-grade students. The sensei is
Tony Butler. Classes are every Thursday from 3:30-4:30
p.m.
African dance Theresa Haig, dance instructor at Philip Livingston
Magnet Academy, teaches African dance to 5th-grade girls
after school on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
