Beginning a journey, building a
foundation
No
step is more important to a child’s education than the first one.
Establishing a solid foundation for young children is vital in shaping
the critical first years of the school experience.
The City School District of Albany offers
excellent full-day kindergarten programs to provide students and
families with this critical first step.
The district’s kindergarten
programs ensure that children build the skills, confidence and
relationships they need to begin a lifetime of learning.
For the 2009-10 school year, a child must
be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2009, to meet eligibility
requirements for kindergarten.
All students must be registered at the Office of Central
Registration, located in the Sunshine Building in Lincoln Park at
the corner of Delaware and Morton avenues. The office is open 8:30
a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 462-7207 for more information.
In order to register, the parents or
guardian must present proof of age and residency, as well as proof of
immunization and custody papers, if applicable. Check out the
Required Documents page to find out what
you'll need to bring with you to register your child. |
