A decade of author visits

Would you believe that 2021 marks ten years of author visits at Albany High School?

With the inaugural visit of Ellen Hopkins on March 16, 2011, the library has hosted at least one author each year since, including superstars like Jason Reynolds and Sharon Flake, local authors like Ryan Smithson, and Holocaust survivor and author Marion Blumenthal Lazan.

All told, more than twenty authors have walked the halls of the high to share their books, stories and life experiences with our Falcons. 

To celebrate these visits amidst the pandemic (which forced the cancellation of Brandy Colbert this past fall), the library will be video chatting and reconnecting with all of the authors that have visited over the years in a series of videos and messages.
