The start date for low-risk winter sports (boys’ swimming and diving and combined boys’ and girls’ bowling) has been pushed back until Dec. 14.
In order to be prepared for the beginning of the season, winter athletes are still encouraged to obtain physicals as soon as possible. Due to the limitations and restrictions regarding COVID-19, the City School District of Albany is not able to offer any in-school physicals for winter 2020-21. It is the responsibility of each family to have this done by an outside doctor or medical facility. Scholar-athletes are encouraged to contact their primary care physician or one of the local urgent care facilities to obtain the required physical. The City School District of Albany’s Health, Physical Education and Athletics Department compiled this list of practitioners who provide sports physicals.
Online registration will be closed down but will reopen closer to the official start date so families can fill out the 30 Day Sports Interval Health History form closer to Dec. 14.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions, please email the district’s Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics - Ashley Chapple – at firstname.lastname@example.org.
