The City School District of Albany is hosting its first modified sport of the 2020-21 academic year - co-ed swimming is now open to students in grades 7-8. Students attending William S. Hackett Middle School, Edmund J. O'Neal Middle School of Excellence, Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School and North Albany Middle School are encouraged to try out.
All practices and meets will occur at Myers (100 Elbel Ct.) and practices will begin at 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Please note, because it's a condensed season, there will be mandatory practices and meets during April break.
Tryouts will begin on Monday, March 8 at 3:30 p.m. at Myers and students should bring a swim suit, towel and water.
If your student is interested, please go to Final Forms to register. Directions can be found here. You will be able to select co-ed swimming from the Fall season. You will be asked to complete emergency contact, insurance and health history information. Physicals should also be uploaded to Final Forms (or faxed to the Athletic Department at 518.475.6311). When first using Final Forms, you will be asked to set up an account and then set up an account for your student-athlete. A personal - not district - email account is required and the student will have to log in to their personal email to confirm the account and sign off on their paperwork in order to be eligible.
Please address all questions to the district's Director of Health, PE and Athletics - Ashley Chapple - at 518.475.6310 or email@example.com.
