Congratulations to varsity boys’ soccer on their first-round sectional win over visiting Colonie Wednesday night!

The Falcons built a strong 2-0 lead in the first half, with goals from Ushindi Bahati and Tuyishime Gafasha.

Bahati scored his second, in the second, and goalie Cesar Bermejo is credited with 3 saves in the game that ended with a final score of 3-2. (Full story by WTEN)

Albany High School plays next on Friday at 4 p.m. at Shenendehowa. The Plainsmen (11-0-4) won the Suburban Council Blue Division and are ranked No. 5 among the state's Class AA schools. The Falcons dropped a well-played 2-1 decision at Shen during the regular season.
