Congratulations Zoe Gravina!

An Albany High student works to block a goal in a lacrosse game.

The FireWolves chose a Falcon!

Zoe Gravina was picked to be the Albany Firewolves Student-Athlete of the Week (presented by Dave & Busters) last week.

The award recognizes student-athletes who have shown commitment to athletics, community and to working hard in the classroom.

The senior goalie - who is also a varsity swimmer - was nominated by the varsity girls' lacrosse coach, Jessica Brooks, who submitted this much-deserved praise:

"Zoe...is one of the hardest working girls on the field. Albany High School plays in the very competitive Suburban Council, where many of the attackers have collegiate-level shots which Zoe must stand up against. She has had one shutout game this year and is averaging between 5-13 saves a game. Not only is she a great player she is a great leader. She is one of Albany High School captains and leads on and off the field. If the girls are having a hard day, she is the one the team can count on to change their attitudes."

Gravina received a prize pack courtesy of Dave & Buster’s and tickets to an upcoming Albany FireWolves game where she will be honored for her achievements.
