Important end of year information

With summer just around the corner, please review the following information regarding the last days of the 2018-19 school year in the City School District of Albany.

Albany High School

The last day of classes at Albany High is Monday, June 17. Regents exams will be given from Tuesday, June 18 through Wednesday, June 26.

Graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2019 will be Sunday, June 23 at the Times Union Center beginning at 2 p.m.

Middle schools

Tuesday, June 25 will be the last day of classes for students at William S. Hackett Middle School, Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School and Edmund J. O’Neal Middle School of Excellence.

Moving-up ceremonies for all eighth-graders will be:  

• Hackett -- June 26 at 9 a.m.  
• Myers -- June 26 at 10 a.m.  
• O’Neal -- June 26 10 a.m.  

Elementary schools

All elementary schools will end the school year with half-days on Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26. Dismissal times on the final days of school June 25-26, plus moving-up ceremony dates and times, are as follows (please note that prekindergarten and kindergarten moving-up information can be found on each school's website):  

• Albany School of Humanities (ASH) – Moving-up is June 25 at 9 a.m. and dismissal on June 25-26 is 11:45 a.m.
• Arbor Hill Elementary School – Moving-up is June 25 at 10 a.m. and dismissal on June 25-26 is 12:50 p.m.
• Delaware Community School – Moving-up is June 26 at 2:30 p.m. (at Hackett) and dismissal on June 25-26 is 12:50 p.m.
• Eagle Point Elementary School – Moving-up is June 25 at 9:30 a.m. and dismissal on June 25-26 is 11:45 a.m.
• Giffen Memorial Elementary School – Moving-up is June 25 at 9:30 a.m. and dismissal on June 25-26 is 12:50 p.m.
• Montessori Magnet School – Moving-up is June 25 at 9:30 a.m. and dismissal on June 25-26 is 11:45 a.m.
• New Scotland Elementary School – Moving-up is June 24 at 10 a.m. and dismissal on June 25-26 is 12:50 p.m.
• North Albany Academy – Moving-up is June 24 at 10 a.m. and dismissal on June 25-26 is noon
• Pine Hills Elementary School – Moving-up is June 24 at 1:15 p.m. and dismissal on June 25-26 is 11:45 a.m.
• Schuyler Achievement Academy – Moving-up is June 19 at 10 a.m. and dismissal on June 25-26 is 12:50 p.m.
• Sheridan Preparatory Academy – Moving-up is June 24 at 9 a.m. and dismissal on June 25-26 is 11:45 a.m.
• Thomas O’Brien Academy of Science and Technology (TOAST) – Moving-up is June 25 at 9 a.m. and dismissal on June 25-26 is 11:45 a.m.​  

Albany International Center

The last day of classes for high school students at Albany International Center is Monday, June 17. Regents exams from Tuesday, June 18 through Wednesday, June 26 will be held at Albany High School.

The last day of classes for middle school students at AIC is Tuesday, June 25.

A moving-up ceremony for eighth-grade students will be held at AIC on Wednesday, June 26 at 9:30 a.m.

Tony Clement Center for Education

The last day of classes for high school and Choice students at Clement is Monday, June 17. Regents exams will be held at Clement from Tuesday, June 18 through Wednesday, June 26.

The last day of classes for middle school students at Clement is Tuesday, June 25.

The mission of the City School District of Albanyis to work in partnership with our diverse community to engage every learner in a robust educational program designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for success. The district serves more than 9,300 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
