Thank you Maintenance Department!

As the City School District of Albany prepares to begin full-day instruction on Tuesday, we would like to recognize the members of our Maintenance Department for helping prepare all of our buildings for this new and very different year in the COVID-19 environment.

The behind-the-scenes and herculean efforts of this 75-member crew, led by Assistant Director of Facilities James Spooner Jr., readied our buildings for students who will be attending school in-person and the faculty and staff members who will be there to serve them.

In addition to their regular duties, the members of our maintenance team have been attentive to the cleaning and sanitizing protocols in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the New York State Department of Health.

We are grateful for their dedication each day to the details necessary to help maintain healthy and safe learning environments for our students, faculty and staff. Like all of our employees, the members of the district's Maintenance Department are “All in for Albany” and it’s appreciated.
