District preparing for possible shift to distance learning

City School District of Albany schools are sending all in-person students home with academic materials Thursday and Friday in case there is a need to transition to distance learning next week.

The district is taking this step to assure that students are safe at home in the event of unrest in Albany related to the presidential inauguration next Wednesday, Jan. 20, in Washington, D.C. The district remains in contact with the city and Albany Police Department, and will continue to monitor developments.

Also, a reminder that all district schools and offices will be closed Monday in recognition of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
