Boys' soccer opens playoffs home vs. Colonie

Oct. 19 update: The game has been scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20. Game time originally was tentatively planned for 4:15 p.m.

The Suburban Council Gray Division-champion Albany High School boys’ soccer team kicks off the Class AA Section 2 playoffs this Wednesday afternoon with a first-round game against Colonie.

The Falcons (8-5-2) are seeded eighth in Class AA; Colonie (8-7-1) is seeded ninth. The game will be a rematch of Saturday’s regular-season finale, which the Falcons won 2-0. 

Game time at Albany High on Wednesday is set for 6 p.m. The winner advances to the quarterfinals to meet top-seeded Shenendehowa on Friday.
