City summer youth employment signups underway

The City of Albany is accepting registration through March 31 for the 2022 LIGHT Summer Youth Employment Program.

The LIGHT Program – Learning, Initiative and Gaining Headway Together – will run from July 11-Aug. 12.

The program is open to youth aged 14-18 who live and attend school in Albany. Youth employees will work up to 20 hours per week, earn $13.20 per hour and must meet all eligibility and orientation requirements to participate.

In order complete the registration process, you will need to:

  • Fill out the online application;
  • Print out and complete the payroll packet (copies also are available in the Albany High School guidance offices);
  • Between March 14 and March 31, bring the payroll packet and the additional required documents to the Summer Youth Employment Office in Bleecker Stadium; and
  • Attend and complete a family orientation session in May.
