Falcon robotics at championships

A huge round of applause for the Albany High School robotics team and their robot Rein. They finished 23rd out of 76 teams in their division on Friday at the 2022 FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston!

Team 1493’s final record was 6 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie after two intense days of competition Thursday and Friday at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Also while in Houston, team members visited the Houston Downtown Aquarium, took a tour of NASA and saw other sights.

A total of 459 teams – primarily from the United States but from as far away as India – took part in the competition.

The team returns to Albany Monday night.

Take a look at a Facebook photo album of their trip. (You don't need a Facebook account to see the pictures linked in the highlighted text. A window may appear that says, "To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)
