Competition intense for Falcon robotics

Three students steer their robot to the competition floor

The scene is INTENSE at MVP Arena, where Albany High School robotics team 1493 and some 50 other teams from around the region (and world) are vying in qualification matches all day Friday to be the 2023 New York Tech Valley Regional FIRST Robotics champions.

Check out a Facebook photo album from Friday's action(You don't need a Facebook account to see the photos linked in the highlighted text above). A window may appear that says, "To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)

Competition continues through late Friday afternoon and resumes Saturday, with semifinal matches Saturday afternoon. You can take a trip to MVP Arena and see the matches, or watch them online here.

Robotics teams from North Albany Middle School, Stephen and Harriet Middle School made the trip to MVP Arena to cheer on the Falcons Friday morning, as well.
