Percussion home show a hit!

Students playing snare drums, bass drums and cymbals march in formation

The Albany Indoor Percussion Ensemble’s Home Show last Saturday was smashing!

Ensembles from seven high schools competed against each other, and the University at Albany Winter Guard and Pep Band also performed.

The Albany High varsity team’s competition performance – “The Heist” – involved an assigned mission to steal an emerald frog from a highly secure museum. The Falcon JV team also had an exhibition performance. Congrats to the varsity team for earning first place in the Percussion Independent A category!

The day ended with a spotlight on seven Albany High seniors in the Albany Indoor Percussion Ensemble who graduate this June. Two Albany High seniors that performed with the UAlbany Winter Guard also were recognized earlier in the show.

Check out a Facebook photo album from the performances. (You don't need a Facebook account to see the photos linked in the highlighted text. A window may appear that says, "To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)
