The City School District of Albany Board of Education welcomed its first new member in six years Thursday night as Austin Wolfgang was sworn in to begin a new four-year term.
Wolfgang, an Albany High School graduate, won election in May and fills the vacancy created by Vickie Smith’s retirement after nearly 10 years of board service.
The board also elected its officers for 2025-26, maintaining the same leaders as the previous year: President Sridar Chittur, Ph.D., who also was re-elected in May to a new four-year term, Vice President Tabetha Wilson (also an Albany High grad) and Secretary Ellen Krejci.
