These are a few of my favorite strings …
The mellifluous sounds of violin, viola and bass drifted through the music rooms at Albany High School on Wednesday as City School District of Albany orchestral students in the Summer Arts Program honed their musical skills – and their confidence.
Led by maestros Tony Berman (strings teacher at Albany High) and Cameron Newman (strings teacher at Hackett), the orchestra portion of the Summer Arts Program is open to students in grades 4-12 who play a range of string instruments.
About 30 students get individual and group lessons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the program, which runs through the end of next week.
