Aspiring fourth- and fifth-grade architects and engineers built bridges, circuits, people pyramids and more on Friday at Thomas O’Brien Academy of Science and Technology (TOAST).
TOAST is one of two sites for the district’s elementary summer school program. Besides TOAST students, the program serves scholars from Albany School of Humanities (ASH), Arbor Hill Elementary, Delaware Community School, Giffen Memorial Elementary School and Pine Hills Elementary School.
Every Friday is engineering and design day, meaning students are presented with STEM-themed challenges and work alone or in groups to complete their projects.
