There’s just something so special about a handcrafted item!
Today, a local knitting group, Chicks with Sticks of Glenmont, New York, donated 144 hand-knit items, including hats, mittens, scarves, shawls, ear warmers and cowls, to our Albany High Falcon Boutique to help keep our students and families warm when the winter weather arrives. Each item is unique and includes a tag with washing and drying instructions so recipients can enjoy their winter gear for years to come.
Jody Mason, along with 10 other local knitters, shared that their group has been working on preparing this donation for eight months, with some of the items taking up to 24 hours to complete from start to finish!
We are grateful for community members who find joy in using their talents to provide items that are both practical and beautiful for our school community.
The Falcon Boutique provides free clothing, footwear and outerwear to Albany High students and their family members. The hours of operation are Monday-Thursday from 3:30 p.m.-5 p.m. and Fridays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on days that school is open.
