Huge finale launches Beckett into 1,000-yard club

Kahlil Beckett

Kahlil Beckett capped his high school football career and an exceptional senior season with a stunning performance in his final game Thursday night.

Beckett ran for 309 yards and six touchdowns to lead Albany High to a 47-9 victory over Columbia. He went into the game needing 80 yards to reach 1,000 for the season and smashed through that milestone by halftime. His performance helped the Falcons finish the season 4-6, their best season since the 2016 team went 5-4.

Beckett finished the season with 1,229 rushing yards -- the most by an Albany High running back since Ky'ere Tillery gained nearly 1,400 as a junior in 2015. Beckett also ran for 17 touchdowns this season, and caught 17 passes for 243 yards and two more scores.

On defense, he had three interceptions and more than 40 total tackles.

With his two-way dominance and heart for the game, Beckett consistently brought incredible energy to the field. We congratulate him on a dynamic and successful season, and his stellar performance in leading the Falcons to victory against Columbia on Thursday!
